Hello Tulsa Chapter!

Did you know August is National Back to School month?  Seems appropriate since many children will head back to school at the end of the month, but it is also a time to catch up on some outdoor activities… if you can take the heat, that is.  Speaking of heat, I just attended an outdoor wedding this past weekend, it had to have been the hottest day of the year.  Where’s that cool front when you need one?

July’s Chapter Meeting was the BC/DP Banquet and Business Meeting.  What a fun and enjoyable evening celebrating with our Scholarship winners and wrapping it up with the presentation of the proposed 2021-2022 Board.  A big “THANK YOU” to Sam Schultz and her committee, it was truly a lovely evening, and I look forward to the great things to come from our incoming Board Members.

TEXOMA = Texas and Oklahoma EWI Chapters (Dallas, Corpus Christi, Houston, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, and Tulsa) took place the last weekend in July.  We will get an update at our Chapter meeting on August 12th.

The August Chapter Meeting will focus on Professional Development, our speaker is Jody Davis with Accent Moving, Storage & Logistics.  Lori Heerlyn will conduct this meeting and it will take place at Ti Amo’s South; I can hardly wait!

It’s not too late to sign up for EWI's Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting (LCAM).  This is our annual professional development conference where members from all Chapters gather to connect, network, and grow professionally through keynote speakers, workshops, seminars, group discussions, and more, September 16 – 18 in Albuquerque, NM.

The September meeting is our Executive of the Year Event and will take place at the Marriott Tulsa Hotel Southern Hills.  Stay tuned, the committee is working hard on this one!  Please note that our October meeting (Installation of our New Board) has been pushed out a week and is being planned for October 21st, the third Thursday of the month.

Over the course of the year, Eva along with several other members have donated many popular door prizes at our monthly meetings and it is very much appreciated.  If you would like to contribute a door prize, please contact Lori Heerlyn at lori.heerlyn@tdwilliamson.com.

Remember, at EWI of Tulsa, we are professional women coming together to help our companies, our careers and our communities thrive.

Stay connected,

Reta

JODY DAVIS

Accent Moving, Storage & Logistics/Mayflower

Jody Davis was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is the oldest of three children.  She has a brother, Chip and a younger sister June Anne.

Jody is the 3rd generation owner of our family business, proudly following in the footsteps of my grandfather, Seth T. Davis and my father, Jack D. Davis. Our company has been an agent for Mayflower Transit, LLC since 1939 and servicing the greater Tulsa metro area.

My agency is well versed in servicing not only household good relocations but also special products, warehouse & distribution and commercial moves & storage. Although, our agency has a family feel, my team has great experience, knowledge and professionalism, capable of caring for our customers with the backing of a major van line.

I love the challenge that comes with each day, it is never the same day twice. Even with 24 years in this industry, I am always learning and improving both personally and professionally. It is an honor to take care of individuals who are trusting us with all of their worldly possessions or companies who rely on us with their multi-million dollar equipment. Our customers are our priority, we will always operate with integrity and character in all we do for them.

Have you ever wondered if you are getting all the nutrients you need from your meals? One way to try and ensure you are getting the essential nutrients is to “eat the rainbow” by including a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables in your diet.  Having an assortment of colors in your daily diet will provide you with a range of flavors that not only taste delicious, but they will also help to optimize your overall health.  Here is a quick recipe for Rainbow Salsa to get you started!
Rainbow Salsa

  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Tortilla chips (Garden of Eatin tortilla chips for reduced-fat yellow corn chips)
