President's Letter

Greetings Tulsa Chapter!

As we usher in September, back to school looks vastly different.  Let us be supportive of our members who have school age children or children who are educators as they transition to either virtual, in-person or blended schedules.

Additionally, let us be supportive of one another as we weather this time not only in our Chapter, but in our nation.  I am so very thankful for each of you.  We are stronger together.  Please stay connected.  If you need assistance with connecting to Zoom, please let us know. If you need to just talk, please reach out.
This is an exciting month for our Chapter! A few of the highlights will be:
  • The Tulsa Chapter’s Pandemic Cookbook will be published thanks to Susan Miller, Programs Director, and to our members who submitted a variety of delicious recipes.
  • Our September Monthly Meeting will be a Zoom meeting and will feature our guest speaker, Allison Greco, Continuous Improvement International.
  • LCAM is free this year and will be held September 18th & 19th. In order to participate, it is necessary to download the app and register. Instructions will be sent out to membership as to how to download the app to include the desktop app. Updates can be found by visiting  https://my.ewiconnect.com . Members will have an opportunity to attend in-person (space is limited due to social distancing and RSVPs are required for attending in-person).  If you cannot attend in-person, make plans to attend remotely. Please plan to attend as we honor and celebrate Felicia Senter, EWI Corporate President.
As a reminder, if you would like to contribute a door prize for September’s meeting, please contact me at  Trish.Richey@hpinc.com.

I look forward to seeing you on Zoom soon! Meanwhile, remain safe and I will leave you with this quote: "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." -Mark Twain

Respectfully yours,

Trish

Announcements

EWI Tulsa has limited seating to social distance together and watch LCAM live!  Watch for an invite in your email to RSVP.
Note from Debbie Burton:  Alzheimer's isn't waiting, and neither are we.  It's time to participate in the Alzheimer's Association Tulsa Walk to End Alzheimer's® on September 26, 2020!  Who doesn't need a little exercise these days?

The name of our Walk team is "EWI Memory Makers" which was created several years ago by our EWI friend (and my mentor), Janice Morgan.  As you might guess, Tulsa Walk 2020 will look different than in previous years.  This year, Walk is everywhere — on every sidewalk, track, and trail.  While we won't be gathering at a large in-person event, I'll be walking in my neighborhood, while others in our community are walking in theirs.

Will you join our Walk team?  Registration is easy; visit our Walk to End Alzheimer's page at http://act.alz.org/goto/4theCure and click the button to join our "EWI Memory Makers" Walk team.  If you are unable to participate, please consider making a donation* to our fundraising campaign.  Every dollar advances the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association®.

*Check donations should be made out to the Alzheimer's Association. You can mail a check to the Alzheimer's Association along with the form available on our fundraising page, or send your check donation to me at 208 W. Birmingham Pl., Broken Arrow, OK  74011, and Debbie can deposit it directly to the Alzheimer's Association through the Walk to End Alzheimer's mobile app.  PayPal and credit card payment methods are also available.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Debbie at dburton@alz.org or call her at 918-636-9499.  Mark your calendars, wear purple (if you have it) and let's walk on September 26th!

Sincerely,
Debbie Burton

It happens all the time. You have a dozen tabs open in your browser and accidentally close the wrong one. You could open up your browser’s history and reopen the tab from there, or you can do it with a couple of keystrokes.

Hit Ctrl+Shift+T on your PC or Command+Shift+T on your Mac to automatically reopen the tab you just closed.
