Presentation/Entertainment:
- I was able to refer AVB just yesterday based on this event and the opportunity to get to know them as an organization
- Loved hearing the history of the bank and knowing that it is still owned by the same family! Such a story to be proud of. The speaker shared a lot of very helpful information.
- I really enjoyed the enthusiasm of the speakers and their passion for their work and the bank itself. It was great to learn about AVB and their enthusiasm made me wonder if I should move my accounts to AVB! They were informative, welcoming and perfect hostesses from start to finish.
Catering:
- Beyond excellent - I will always refer to them for catering after this event.
- I loved this meeting. It was fun getting to sample food and drink pairings. We should do at least one of these type of dinners every year!
- SO IMPRESSED! Felt like I was on Top Chef lol. The food was amazing, and the drinks were even better. Will definitely eat at Amelia's.
Venue:
- Perfect!
- I absolutely loved the venue. Probably my favorite so far this year. Beautiful space and the layout was lovely.
- Loved the space

Etiquette Tips for Handling
Awkward Situations
|
|
|
Have you had one of those awkward situations at work that you haven’t been sure whether you should ignore it or do something about it? Debby Mayne suggests some great ways to handle those “sticky” situations. Here are a few of the tips from her website, “The Spruce”.
An Email or a Text Sent to the Wrong Person
I once discovered that I had accidentally sent an email with a snarky remark about a woman with whom I was corresponding back to the woman rather than the intended third party. Debby says that there is no way to “unsend” the message, so it’s time for damage control. She recommends picking up the phone and talking to the person. “It’s always easier to explain with back-and-forth conversation than with another email or text message. The person will hear the sincerity in your voice more easily than seeing it in another message.”
A Flirty Boss
If your boss or another superior in the office is being flirty, Debby says that you should handle the situation immediately. Tell the person that his/her behavior is making you feel uncomfortable and you want it to stop immediately. If the flirty behavior continues, Debby indicates that you have three choices: “Tell your boss’s supervisor, live with it, or quit your job.”
Inappropriate Office Relationship
If you discover one of your married coworkers “engaging in inappropriate behavior with someone else in the office”, it can be a bit overwhelming. Debby suggests that you leave the scene and later ask one of the people involved to explain what was happening as you may have misunderstood the situation. However, if your instincts were correct, “resist the urge to comment.” She also advises that you shouldn’t “gossip about an office romance with others either because often the messenger winds up in more trouble than the ones who commit the infraction.”
