“In early June the world of leaf and blade and flowers explodes, and every sunset is different.”

John Steinbeck

It is that time of year again - summer is in full swing! The days are warm and perfect for outdoor activities, while kids are enjoying their summer break. Personally, I love watching my flowers and plants change and grow with every passing day. But as important as this time of year is for my plants, it is also vital for our Chapter.

Now is the perfect time to prepare for the growth and change that will happen this fall with the installation of a new board. And that means deciding whether or not to take on a board position for the next year. I encourage each of you to read through the roles and responsibilities and give it a try if you haven't before. Not only will you grow your connections with your EWI friends, but you'll gain valuable insight and an active voice in planning out the programs and focuses for the next year. Trust me, it's a rewarding experience that you won't regret, and it will allow you to bloom as a leader!  As we move into the next new chapter, I am thrilled about my upcoming transition to the role of an Advisor. It presents a valuable opportunity for me to work closely with the new president, Sam Schultz, and her board of directors to help guide our organization to even greater heights. If you have any questions about this transition or are interested in serving, I encourage you to connect with one of our esteemed Nominations Committee Members: Lori Heerlyn, Trish Richey, or Sam Schultz. Their knowledge and expertise in this area is sure to be of great benefit to anyone looking to get involved. Together, we can continue to bloom where we are planted and build a bright future for our organization!

As we gear up for LCAM 2023 (Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting), I can hardly contain my excitement! This highly anticipated annual conference promises to be even bigger and better this year, offering a wealth of professional development opportunities that are not to be missed. From inspiring keynote speakers to insightful breakout sessions, LCAM is the perfect place to expand your knowledge and skills. But it is not all work and no play - philanthropic initiatives, such as the Corporate Reading Rally and Scholarship Awards, promise to make this event a rewarding experience for all. And don't forget about the networking opportunities, which allow you to connect with member firms from across North America and Canada. I encourage you to take advantage of Early Bird Registration, which ends on June 30, and secure your spot at this year's LCAM in beautiful Chattanooga, TN. If you have any questions or need help coordinating your travel plans, don't hesitate to reach out - I'll be more than happy to assist you!

I hope you all have a wonderful start to your summer and be sure to share any of your summer vacation photos to Autumn Everett, our Communications Chair.  We would all LOVE to enjoy your vacations with you!  Safe travels and continue blooming EWI of Tulsa!!  You all are BLOOMING like crazy!!!
