January 2016

A Letter From Our President

Happy New Year!

Hello 2016 and Goodbye 2015.

What a blessing it is to see another year and know that we have another chance to get it right and do things better than we did last year.  I think of the New Year like a Do Over with your life, a new season, new goals, re-established goals, and aspirations.  I am so excited about all the possibilities that 2016 has to offer.  This is going to be our best year yet.

As 2015 ended, I tried to reflect on the things I accomplished, things that went well and things that should never be attempted again.  This helps me to start the year fresh and ready for New Beginnings.  Let make some New Beginnings within EWI of Tulsa.

It is never too late to sign up for a committee or volunteer to host a firm night.  REMEMBER this is our membership renewal season, Corporate Office is sending out renewal notices to member firms.  Please take a moment to review your renewal email and “Just Say Yes” by returning the required paperwork and fees.

Are you ready with your resolution(s)?  Need an accountability partner?

This is my “ME” year.  The year that I put Felicia first, the year that I shower myself with everything needed to continue my busy life journey.  The year that I try to find my Work Life Balance or discover that there is no such thing.  My year to continue to Create My Own Path in all that I do and enjoy 2016 to the fullest.
The poem listed below inspires me to be better.

          Is anybody happier
          because you passed their way?
          Does anyone remember
that you spoke to them today?

          The day is almost over,
and its toiling time is through,
Is there anyone that will utter
          a kind word about you?

Can you say tonight in parting,
with the day that's slipping fast,
that you helped a single person
of the many that you passed?

          Is a single heart rejoicing
over what you did or said?
Does the one whose hopes were fading
          now with courage look ahead?

Did you waste the day or use it?
Was it well or sorely spent?
Did you leave a trail of kindness,
          or a scar of discontent?

As you close your eyes in slumber,
do you think that God will say,
"you have earned one more tomorrow
by the work you did today?"

Keep Creating

Tech Tip

Generate Random Passwords with Siri

Yes, the voice assistant Siri can do more than what it offers in command lists, including generating random passwords for you. Just activate Siri and say “random password” and you’ll be provided an 8-alphanumeric-character password from Siri. You can even add the character length e.g. "random password 16 characters".
